Broad beans peeking

Finally, they are appearing. Last time I did a quick check I was disappointed, I thought little captures had been nibbling or pinching the seeds and had expected some to be showing, at the time, December, they weren't.

Today however, little rows of small beans are poking through and as this is the first crop of broad beans I have ever sown I am chuffed! Admittedly I am not too keen on the beans. It I love the shape of the plants and the fruits of the labour can always be given to welcome recipients.

Keep growing my little lovelies....

Reliable rhubarb

When all seems bleak and too wet to do anything, peeking rhubarb cheers the day. Hopefully will have a good crop this year, only planted last season so I hope it has now settled in well.

Winter view of shallotment

Made it to the allotment today to have a quick check. Surprised at just how wet it is, no chance of digging unless good period of dry or cold weather. However, despite this it was looking better than I thought.
