The arrival of the shed - 12th April

A testing day but with a good end result - lets hope it doesn't blow away!

The wonders of the hoe!

I have never really understand the true value of the hoe before. But faced with a rapidly growing patch of the lovely maretails I decided to see what all the fuss was about.

Having seen fellow allotmenteers gently hoeing their patch I thought it would be a nice serene job. Well, it is after you have tamed the wilderness but I must admit it did a fab job of clearing the tops of the weeds. I know the roots are still there and it will regrow but there is something motivating about chopping the tops off and letting the sun bake them to leave a pristine area of ground.

Piccies to follow - I have before and after.

Long live the hoe - just need to find a sharpener and then we really are in business!
