plans for the weekend

With all this rain and gales I have not worked on the allotment at all this year. I have been over to see how things are fairing and generally everything is not looking too bad but the ground is incredibly wet. The soil has quite a bit of clay in places and sandy in others - I know weird - so it makes it difficult to work on at this time of the year.

The main task in hand for now though is to give the willow its first haircut and to use the whips to create a living willow sculpture in part of the now overgrown and grassy wildflower meadow.

With sporadic showers today, hopefully it will be ok to have a little go tomorrow on the plot. Not sure how I am going to get rid of the log wildflower grass but guessing brute force might be the order of the day.

Last time I popped over the daffodils were showing well so maybe there might even be a little ray of sunshine for me to pick and take home.

Watch this space and I will update with either words or pictures!

Have a good weekend all.
