The genius shed weighing down solution

Hub you are a genius and thanks to Nicki on freecycle for the free slabs.

Pretty sure it's not going to fall over now and I have an indoor patio to sit on when it rains.

Pathway cleared

Jersey pots weeded and pathway cleared so it's looking neater again. Probably keeping the neighbour happy as well.

Jersey pots are now weeded

Jersey pots looking good considering they were planted later than they should have been. Fingers crossed for a good harvest.

The return of the shed

Yeah it's back! Thank you hub for helping stand it back up, level it out and turn it round so it sits properly on the ground.

Genius idea about how to weight it down as well, watch this space.

Jersey pots looking good

Ignore the weeds, the jersey pots are looking good.

You can even see the sweetcorn planted a couple of weeks ago if you look closely.

Pretty caterpillars or munching monsters?

Not sure what these will turn into or whether they are welcome really, but as I pretty much only have thistles on the patch of any note, they are more than welcome to munch their way through those.

Very pretty caterpillars.

Raspberry bed before and after 22nd July

Finally made it the allotment and although weedy not quite as bad as I imagined.

Started on raspberry bed, tidied paths and relaid some black covering to at least make it look a bit better.

Not bad for an hours work, still more to do though..

I was as red as raspberry when I left, lovely sunny Saturday afternoon.

Feeling guilty

So it is still raining which is good but still feeling guilty about neglecting the plot.

Saturday looks a possibility. Artichokes, second batch of sweetcorn and some nasturtiums to plant as well as weeding.

Wellies at the ready...

It's raining again

Brilliant for the plants and my current excuse for not doing the necessary weeding.

Hope the shed doesn't have too much of a puddle on it, poor thing.

Promise I will try and get there this week.

Strawberry bed - before and after - 9th July

An hours work does make all the difference - excellent hoeing and then the rains came so I scarpered home!
There are strawberry plants in there somewhere

Ah, strawberries, blackcurrants and rhubarb re-emerge

Weedy update - Saturday 9th July

Weeds galore

I cannot believe how much the weeds have grown over the last couple of weeks. I wouldn't mind but it is not really the mares tail, lots of thistles and some unidentified ones.

At least the unidentified ones pull out easy but the thistles really hurt as they always find the weak spot in your gloves.

Ah well back to hoeing next time then...as usual.

First raspberries

Its not autumn but my autumn fruiting raspberries provided a well deserved treat, half a dozen glorius sweet treats.

Yummy, roll on more....

Planting update 1st July

Finally the beans are in, along with one batch of sweetcorn, sweet peas and borage.

A good evenings planting.
